Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu 2 days
We will start our tour in Cusco, picking you up at 8:30 am. We will board our transportation and reach the first stop at the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Pisac. In this town, we will visit its archaeological site and its famous handicraft artisan’s market. After this, we board our transportation again and reach Urubamba to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit the Ollantaytambo Inca town, its amazing Inca Fortress, and we will take our train
After a 2-hour ride, we will get to Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu town. In here, our team will take you to your hotel to rest after a day full of adventure and prepare to visit Machu Picchu the following day.

ITINERARIO
Pre-Departure Briefing - Cusco
A day before our Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu tour, we will have a briefing meeting headed by our tour guide. This talk is given to all travelers for approximately 20 to 30 minutes. It is important to attend the briefing because, at this moment, you will learn about each moment of the trip in detail. Moreover, remember that if you have any doubts before the trip this is the perfect moment to ask. At the end, you will receive the final advice before the departure, such as what to wear during the trip, how the climate in the sites you will visit, and more!
DAY 01 From Cusco to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Cusco - Pisac - Urubamba - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes
The first day of our tour starts in Cusco. We will pick you up from your hotel at around 8:30 am, and take our private transportation to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The first stop is Pisac, here we will visit the archaeological site and its well-known artisan market. you can buy some souvenirs and local products.
Then, we will make another ride to Urubamba to have lunch and rest for about 40 minutes. In the afternoon, we will reach the Ollantaytambo village, one of the most famous and beautiful sites in the Sacred Valley. We will visit the Ollantaytambo Fortress, and our guide will talk about its history and importance for the Inca Empire.
At the end of our visit here, we will go to the local Train Station to take our train to Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu town. The Expedition or Voyager Train is included in your tour.
DAY 02 A visit to the Machu Picchu Citadel. Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco
We will have an unforgettable experience on this day; watching the sunrise at Machu Picchu. We will wake up very early, and have breakfast in the hotel at 4:00 am. Afterward, we will go to the Machu Picchu bus station. Moreover, we will take one of the first buses to the Citadel entrance (keep in mind that it is the only bus line that operates this route and there are usually people waiting)
After a 30-minute ride, we are ready to see the beautiful sunrise right at the entrance. We will enjoy this magnificent view for a few minutes, and our guide will start the guided tour. We will make a journey around with our guide explaining everything about Machu Picchu and after, we will have some free time until lunchtime.
If you want to visit Huayna Picchu Mountain, you need to get another ticket at the entrance of the site and climb for 1 and a half hours. Finally, our visit will end and we will return to Aguas Calientes.
You will have free time to explore the town at your own pace. We recommend a look at the Traditional Artisan’s Market, the local Hot Springs, and the Machu Picchu Museum. In the afternoon, we will go to the train station and take our train back to Ollantaytambo.
Our team will be waiting for you to pick you up in Ollantaytambo. Look for the Haku Travel sign and we will take you to the transportation to return to Cusco after 2 hours.

- Consider the season and time of your tour: Take into consideration that Cusco has two main seasons throughout the year. First, the dry season goes from May to October and it is characterized by its popularity and number of visitors, a high season. On the other hand, the low or rainy season goes from November to March. We consider that the best seasons to visit Machu Picchu and Cusco are the shoulder seasons, which are April and October. Nevertheless, you can visit it any time of the year. We recommend dressing in layering clothes and taking rain gear, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, and a hat.
- Take basic precautions on altitude sickness: this tour is not challenging at all! But remember, that Cusco is above 3000 m. so don’t miss out on adequate acclimatization before you start your adventures outside Cusco City.
- Pack smartly: Bring just what you will need, but prepare for sunny days as well as occasional rain depending on the season of your visit. The Sacred Valley offers warmer weather, but Machu Picchu tends to be more humid. We recommend bringing layered clothes, trekking gear, toiletries, and personal items only. Don’t forget to get some cash for tickets, and to buy snacks along the way.
