Sunrise in Machu Picchu 2 days
The tour starts in Cusco, picking you up to take our transportation to Ollantaytambo, our first stop located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. After noon, we will take the train to Aguas Calientes town, also known as Machu Picchu village. After setting in, you will have free time to explore the surroundings and spend the night in your hotel. The following day, you will have a life-changing experience and immerse in the legacy of the Inca Empire visiting the Machu Picchu World Heritage Site.

ITINERARIO
PRE - Departure briefing - Cusco
A day before the Machu Picchu Sunrise Tour, we will have a briefing meeting headed by our tour guide. This talk is given to all travelers for approximately 20 to 30 minutes. It is important to attend the briefing because, at this moment, you will learn about each moment of the trip in detail. Moreover, remember that if you have any doubts before the trip this is the perfect moment to ask. At the end, you will receive the final advice before the departure, such as what to wear during the trip, how the climate in the sites you will visit, and more!
Please note that the briefing for this tour will take place at our Haku Travel office, located on Ayahuayco Avenue N – 3 a day before the scheduled departure of the tour. It is important to attend the meeting, which will take place around 6 or 7 pm.
DAY 01 Cusco City - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes
Our private transportation will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco at 10:00 am, and you will start the ride to Ollantaytambo, an Inca city in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Here, you will take the train to Aguas Calientes at 12:55 pm. The ride takes two hours, so you will be at the Aguas Calientes town around 2:50 pm.
In Aguas Calientes, our team will be waiting for you to take you to your accommodation. The town is also known as Machu Picchu town because it is the gateway to the marvelous Inca Citadel. Many visitors spend at least a night here because it offers some other activities to do and it is perfect to await the early hour to see the rising of the sun the next day. Take your time to get some rest and sleep, as you will need all your energy for the big day coming up!
Accommodation: Luz Garden, Luna Muna or Eco Mapi, or others (double, twin, triple, and 4-beds) – subject to availability.
DAY 02 Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco City
We will have an unforgettable experience on this day; watching the sunrise at Machu Picchu. We will wake up very early, and have breakfast in the hotel at 4:00 am. Afterward, we will go to the Machu Picchu bus station. Moreover, we will take one of the first buses to the Citadel entrance (keep in mind that it is the only bus line that operates this route and there are usually people waiting)
After a 30-minute ride, we are ready to see the beautiful sunrise right at the entrance. We will enjoy this magnificent view for a few minutes, and our guide will start the guided tour. We will make a journey around with our guide explaining everything about Machu Picchu and after, we will have some free time until lunchtime.
In case you want to visit Huayna Picchu Mountain, you need to get another ticket at the entrance of the site and climb for 1 and a half hours. Finally, our visit will end and we will return to Aguas Calientes; you can choose between taking the bus or walking.
At the end of our visit, we will board the bus again and return to Aguas Calientes. Once in the town, we will have time to eat, and you can visit some interesting sites (the hot springs, Machu Picchu museum, and artisan market)
The end of our trip has come, you will board the train to Ollantaytambo in the afternoon. After the 2-hour train ride, you will meet a member of our team, who will be waiting for you with a Haku Travel sign. You will take the transportation back to Cusco for another 2 hours. We will drop you off at your hotel, and end the tour.

On the other hand, the rainy season goes from November to March. The best seasons of the year to visit Machu Picchu are the shoulder seasons, which are April and October. Nevertheless, you can visit it any time of the year. We recommend dressing in layering clothes and taking rain gear, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, and a hat.
- Pack smartly: Bring just what you will need, but prepare for sunny days as well as occasional rain. We recommend bringing layered clothes, trekking gear, toiletries, and personal items only. Don’t forget to get some cash for tickets, and snacks along the way.
