City tour Cusco
In this 4-hour excursion, we will visit the highlights of Cusco City. We will start in the Qorikancha, or Temple of the Sun to learn more about the history of this magic place. Furthermore, we will reach Saqsayhuaman, which is the most popular archaeological site in Cusco, then we will reach the Qenqo site and forest, the Puka Pukará fortress ruins, and finally we will visit Tambomachay and its amazing water supply system.

ITINERARIO
PRE - Departure briefing - Cusco
The briefing will be headed by our tour guide a day before the City Tour Cusco. This talk is given to all travelers for approximately 20 to 30 minutes. It is important to attend the briefing because, at this moment, you will learn about each moment of the trip in detail. Moreover, remember that if you have any doubts before the trip this is the perfect moment to ask. At the end, you will receive the final advice before the departure, such as what to wear during the trip, how the climate in the sites you will visit, and more!
DAY 01 - Guided tour in Cusco. Qorikancha - Saqsayhuaman - Qenqo - Puca Pucará - Tambomachay
Our tour will start by picking you up at around 1:30 pm from your hotel in Cusco. The tourist bus will be waiting for us to start this tour. The first stop is Qoricancha, we will be here for about an hour. On this site, we will enjoy the colonial architecture on the foundations of an ancient Inca temple.
The second stop on our journey is the Saqsayhuaman archaeological complex, which will take only 15 minutes to reach from Qorikancha. This amazing site is famous for its big stone buildings, and every June 24th is the Inti Raymi celebration hub. We will make a visit of about an hour to explore the whole complex.
Very close to Saqsayhuaman, we will find the Qenqo archaeological site, which means labyrinth in Quechua. It is believed to have been an Inca religious and ceremony site. Our guide will explain the mystic importance of the site, and we will have approximately one hour to explore it.
After another 15-minute ride, we will reach the Puca Pucara fortress and our guide will explain its history before we get to our last destination, Tambomachay. Here, the ancient Incas honored the water and it is known as the eternal youth fountain.
At the end of this nurturing tour, we will take the transportation back to the center of the city.

- Be careful with altitude: You may want to include this short trip in your travel itinerary and it is perfect to do it first because the city is perfect to acclimate to the altitude while enjoying interesting places. However, you may consider having hot drinks and walking at your own pace to avoid inconveniences.
- Respect for locals and the environment: Near Cusco City, you will find a lot of culture and traditions to date, and you can learn a lot from locals. Also, you may see some representative birds, plants, and trees, so we recommend always taking back any waste generated during the trip.
FAQ's
What tickets do you need to enter the sites?
Cusco offers a special ticket pack to visit the tourist sites near the city, including museums and cultural houses. This is called the Boleto Turístico, and you can find the best option for you here. Our recommendation is to take the special tourist tickets – Circuit I.
Another option is to pay for the entrance tickets at each site, which are valued at 4 to 5 dollars for every site.
What do you need to bring to the tour?
It is recommended to take essential documentation, your Boleto Turistico del Cusco, or cash to buy the entrance tickets, snacks, and souvenirs; you may want to take warm layering clothes and a jacket to the end of the tour; sun protection, and your items.
When is the best time to do this tour?
Consider that you can make a Cusco City Tour any time of the year. Nevertheless, the dry season is between May to October, while the rainy season in Cusco goes from November to March.
